Join our team as a Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer, where you’ll play a critical role in driving equipment reliability, improving process stability, and advancing operational excellence in a high-volume manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll own your production area from a technical standpoint—leading troubleshooting efforts, implementing sustainable solutions, and partnering cross-functionally to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence new product launches and drive meaningful continuous improvement initiatives.<h2></h2><h2>Position</h2>Process Improvement Engineer<h2></h2><h2>Location</h2>USA, Decatur, AL<h2>How You'll Create Possibilities</h2>Own Equipment & Drive Performance<ul><li>Serve as the technical owner for all equipment and tooling within your assigned production area</li><li>Lead hands-on troubleshooting and support for equipment and process issues</li><li>Partner closely with maintenance and operations teams to restore and improve performance</li><li>Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)</li><li>Identify and implement equipment and tooling improvements</li><li>Support new equipment specifications, reviews, and commissioning</li><li>Ensure preventive maintenance strategies are effective and executed to maximize uptime</li><li>Maintain calibration compliance and manage critical tooling and spare parts </li></ul>Champion Safety & Compliance<ul><li>Collaborate with operations leadership to identify and implement safety improvements</li><li>Drive closure of safety actions from incidents, near misses, and ergonomic assessments</li><li>Maintain and improve Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and compliance </li></ul>Improve Process Stability<ul><li>Develop and sustain manufacturing control plans and process standards</li><li>Work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to resolve production challenges quickly and effectively</li><li>Standardize work instructions to ensure consistency and repeatability </li></ul>Lead Continuous Improvement<ul><li>Drive structured problem-solving using root cause analysis and corrective actions</li><li>Partner with leadership to execute continuous improvement initiatives</li><li>Share best practices and lessons learned across teams </li></ul>Support New Product Introduction (NPI)<ul><li>Collaborate with engineering teams on equipment procurement, installation, and qualification</li><li>Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and long-term sustainability</li><li>Support line setups, model changes, and capacity planning</li><li>Interface with vendors and OEMs to ensure successful implementation and knowledge transfer</li></ul><h2>What You'll Bring to Our Team</h2>Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering/Operations/Quality support roles, or equivalent education and experience, including military experience</li><li>Hands-on experience troubleshooting high-volume manufacturing equipment.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to quickly learn new systems.</li><li>Experience with fabrication and injection molding equipment.</li><li>Hands-on robotics and controls experience in automated manufacturing environments.</li><li>Knowledge of appliance manufacturing processes.</li><li>Experience with controls, preventive maintenance, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.</li><li>PLC, distributed I/O, and servo controls experience.</li><li>Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience or certification.</li><li>Formal project management experience or training. </li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Combination of office and manufacturing floor environments. </li></ul>Travel<ul><li>Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.</li></ul><h2>Our Culture</h2>Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
